Trapattoni: Keane Ready for First Game

Robbie Keane get a hamstring injury playing for his club last weekend. But he is believed to still be able to defend the Republic of Ireland in his first match at Euro 2012. Keane was ambushed by a hamstring injury while competing with the LA Galaxy against Chivas. Injury that raised fears the Irish public for the European Cup is closer.



Scanning was performed by the club to find out how much damage the attacker covered 31 years. The result is a relief, the injury was not too bad. "They say the results of scanning in the United States is not bad. We're not worried and we are waiting with great confidence," said Ireland coach Giovanni Trappatoni, as reported by Eurosport.

News of the results of Keane's injury is also accompanied by other good news. The three other pillars of the Republic of Ireland, John O'Shea, Keith Fahey and Kevin Foley, said to have recovered from injury and has started training again. Ireland will start their work in the European Cup Group C match against Croatia on June 10. After that they duel with Spain (14/6) and Italy (18/4).
