Joleon Lescott insists no problem with the appointment of John Terry to strengthen the squad for England at Euro 2012. Manchester City defender says the situation regarding Terry finished handled since last April.
The Three Lions manager, Roy Hodgson, Terry decided to choose to participate in the tournament to be held in Poland and Ukraine in June-July next. Meanwhile, Terry is currently facing charges of racist acts against Anton Ferdinand. However, the Chelsea captain was strongly rejected the allegations.
Lescott will be dealing directly with Terry to perform at the core squad at Euro 2012, but 29-year-old City defender is adamant there is no feeling of anger against the former captain of the Three Lions. Lescott believes Terry is the situation surrounding the incident in the past.
"We have the same reason, that is doing the best for Britain," Lescott said in a press conference ESPNSoccernet reported on Thursday (24/5) local time. "When faced with Spain, we played together and produced two very good performance, so it proves there is no hostility in the squad."
Regarding the new boss of the Three Lions, Lescott expect an increase compared to when he was dealt with Fabio Capello. Since addressed Hodgson, the former Everton defender is confident opportunities for English 23 players to be able to perform at Euro 2012 will always be open.
"The biggest difference is the communication problem. Roy Mother tongue is English, so what is to be conveyed by him to be well received," said Lescott.
"The manager has been told quite clearly that he still has not determined the core squad, so I hope in the fight-game warm-up, I can claim a place in the main squad for Euro 2012," due diligence.
