Joining Neville with Hodgson

Former Manchester United (MU), Gary Neville, was appointed as England's national team coaching staff. Neville who has a UEFA A coaching license and UEFA is bound for a four-year contract by the English Football Association (FA).



"Gary has so many achievements in this game as a player at Manchester United and England," said Hodgson on the FA's official website. "He has gained the UEFA coaching qualifications and will get great respect from the players, because he is very experienced as a player.

At the first meeting with the FA, I explained that Gary is the one that I want to be part of my staff," he added. "I think it's important for us to have a younger coach who really understands (atmosphere) and the locker rooms are very experienced at international level. He has represented England as a player in five (round) final of the major events that will make him a member staff are very valuable, "said Hodgson.

Meanwhile, Neville said he did not hesitate when offered the position in England's coaching staff. "Roy asked me to be part of his staff and to work with the national team. This is not only an honor, but is a very special moment for me," said Neville. "I certainly do not hesitate to accept this role and I enjoy the opportunity to work with Roy and his team at the Euro and undergo the next two tournaments," he added.


 Neville will join coach Ray Lewington and two Goalkeeper coach, Ray Clemence and Dave Watson, a staff coach Hodgson at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. In total, Neville has 85 times for "Three Lions" as a player. He has appeared in three European Cups (1996, 2000, 2004), and twice at the World Cup (1998, 2006). At club level, Neville successfully won all the domestic titles and the Champions League with Manchester United. On February 2011, Neville chose retired and working as a football analyst on Sky Sports.
