Van Marwijk Hoping Sneijder Injury Not Serious

Dutch victory over Slovakia accompanied by unpleasant news, the injured Wesley Sneijder. Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk, hoping the injury of his men were not too serious. Sneijder was forced to pull out when the match at De Kuip Stadium on Thursday (5/31/2012) pm dawn, into the minute-51. Inter Milan suffered an ankle injury and was replaced by Rafael van der Vaart.



With the Euro 2012 that will begin nine days away, Sneijder injury would be a separate concern for the Netherlands. Van Marwijk was hoping the player can recover in time. "Sneijder suffered an injury in the ankle (left)," said van Marwijk. "Tomorrow, we'll know more about this injury. I hope it's not too serious because Wesley was playing at a high level. I see him very well in practice," he added. "And for Joris Mathijsen (thigh), I think he has a good chance to play in the first game," said Van Marwijk. Holland joined in Group B with Germany, Denmark, and Portugal. They will start the tournament to face Denmark in Kharkiv, June 9.
