With David Villa missed the Euro 2012, Fernando Torres will undoubtedly be the foundation of Spanish on the front lines. Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina believes Torres would not waste the opportunity and will respond with a goal.
Villa certainly can not be strengthened in an effort to retain the Spanish title in the Poland-Ukraine Europe this summer, after he could not recover in time from a broken leg.
Judging from the Spanish squad brought to the European Cup, the absence of Villa Torres would appear to be making the main attacker. Moreover, 91 caps with the club from Chelsea's players are much more experienced than the other front players: Pedro Rodriguez (15 caps), Alvaro Negredo (8), and Fernando Llorente (20).
With 27 goals, Torres is also a Spanish national team players who are still active and fertile in the current squad - Villa was Spain's top scorer of all time with 51 goals.
Some people may be doubted whether Torres can be machine-scored 'The Matador' summer. But former colleagues seklubnya Reina believes Liverpool are now in the best performance and ready to spread the threat to the opposing goal.
"It's been a while since I saw him like this. Physically he is in good condition. Mentally he believes he is a prominent figure in the national team, especially since Villa absent, and the role that made him excited," said Reina at the BBC.
"He looks comfortable and energetic. Hopefully, he will live with both the European Cup and Spain will benefit from his goals," he continued.
