"We are here to compete with one of the strongest teams in the tournament," said the captain of Portugal,
Cristiano Ronaldo, on ESPN Star.
"We want to compete and enjoy it. I'm sure we'll play well," added the Real Madrid striker.
"I do not feel afraid and I do not see it on our players. Our team is fine and ready," he continued.
"Germany is the team favorite to win the Euro. They've shown that they are a great team with great players. Germany did not just rely on individual talent," he said.
Despite the difficult group entry, Portugal will not be satisfied if only to escape the group stage. They still keep the hope of winning the tournament.
"In a tournament like this, the best team physically and tactically strongest who wins. I hope the team is Portugal," said Ronaldo.
"I wish we had a great tournament. We will try to go as far as possible," he concluded.
